About Clare Williams – Botanical Artist
From an early age I’ve had an interest in flowers and Art. Growing up on Anglesey, my love of the sea, mountains, flora and fauna was created.
I went on to study Art in Bangor under the influential Peter Prendergast. Thereafter I studied for a degree in Visual Arts in Cheltenham.
I have lived in some wonderful places and travelled around the world to many influential and beautiful countries. I have taken inspiration from many places but in particular I have been taken by the Cayman Islands and Tuscany.
I am an Associate Member the Society of Botanical Art and also a member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art (having recently resigned as a Council Member to focus on my studio).
I have exhibited in the Bankside, Menier, Gallery Seventeen and Westminster Hall in London. I have also exhibited at the Black Swan Gallery in Frome as well as other local exhibitions.
Several years ago, I moved to Monmouthshire from London to bring up my two children where we have finally put down firm roots and where I now have my studio.
Based in my garden situated in the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside, you can find my studio five miles from Abergavenny in the foothills of Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons) and eight miles from the picturesque village of Usk.
